Network Rail, Glasgow have recently invested in our BM20200 Commercial Mobile Brake Tester.

The well-established company who run Britain’s railways have a Shettleston Rail Plant Depot in Glasgow. They are now using our professional equipment to carry out brake testing on their Unimog Road Railers, also referred to as Universal Road-Rail Vehicles.. The DVSA have recently changed their laws and have announced that Agricultural Tractors used for haulage must undergo MOT testing which includes Unimogs.

With this in mind, the company decided to bring brake testing in-house. MOT tests on Agricultural Tractors must be carried out at an Authorised Testing Facility (ATF), therefore this meant that the company were constantly paying out for high test fees at external MOT Stations to ensure they were compliant with the DVSA.

However, by investing in our BM20200 Commercial Mobile Brake Tester Network Rail, Glasgow are now able to carry out their own efficient brake testing in-house saving a lot of time and money. The company are now using our brake testing equipment on all vehicles which are over 3.5 tonnes which equates to around 45 different vehicles they own. As well as saving money on brake testing, Network Rail Glasgow also have peace of mind as they have opted for our 5-Year Goldcare All Inclusive Warranty & Calibration Package. This means that any warranty repairs are covered and calibrations, servicing, and DTP updates will be carried out every 6 months by our very own professional and highly qualified V-Tech Engineers, at no extra cost to Network Rail.

V-tech are not just a supplier, we offer on-site quotations visits to create bespoke quotes, arrange finance to installation and training. Furthermore, like Network Rail have wisely decided, we can offer comprehensive equipment aftercare by our professional engineers.

David McCallum, Network Rail Engineer says:

“MOT Testing had been taking up a lot of valuable business time for us at Network Rail. We were paying external MOT Test Stations to carry out the appropriate testing which meant that our vehicles were off the road for at least 3 days. It made complete business sense, to invest in our own brake testing unit so we could perform brake testing in house to save not only time, but money too. It was actually one of our Network Rail Supervisors that recommended V-Tech. We visited another V-Tech customer to test the equipment and seeing the equipment in full action and seeing how knowledgeable the team are was one of the main reasons why we chose V-Tech. As well as the fact that this particular unit was mobile which was ideal for us, as we didn’t want the equipment to take up too much space as we didn’t have the room to have a designated area for brake testing. I would definitely recommend V-Tech, our overall experience has been very good, and delivery was on time as promised”.
